Dr. S. Jimson completed his undergraduate & postgraduate studies at the prestigious The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University,Guindy, Chennai. He has been in academics since completing his MDS
He has lectured at various national and international conferences and is a faculty member at OMFS workshops. His organisational skills are exceptional, and he has organised many workshops and conferences.
He was formerly Vice-Principal—Research and head of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Tagore Dental College & Hospital, Chennai, Principal, at Sree Balaji Dental College & Hospital, Chennai.
He is the past Hon. State Secretary and now the President-elect of the Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons of India, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry Branch. He was also an elected member of the Executive Committee of the National Association for three times from 2018. He is now the representative to Asian Association from AOMSI. He is also the Organising Secretary of the forthcoming Asian Congress of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Chennai in July 2024.
He was a member of the Board of Studies for Postgraduate Studies of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai.
He is a journal reviewer and section editor. Dr.Jimson has authored a chapter and a video editor in the AOMSI textbook for Clinicians and has published in indexed journals.
His surgical passion includes trauma, pathology, implants and Orthognathic surgery.
He has been in private practice since 1995. He is blessed with a wonderful family. His wife is an Oral Pathologist and a professor in a dental college. She is a pillar of support for Dr.Jimson. He has a son who is working in Australia.
